Life has been crazy the last few months.
I am currently doing my Directed Fieldwork with the amazing team at The Seattle Public Library Genealogy Department.
I am moving into a new apartment on July 5th and will once again be able to devote more time to this blog.

Washington State High-res historical photo collections — for free!
The Washington State Digital Archives just got better! The State Archives recently added two digital photograph collections to the Digital Archives. These online collections feature high-res shots (all at least 600 ppi) and can be accessed FOR FREE!
The first collection is from the Washington State Library Collection. It features 5,300 images of all things Washington.
The second collection features photos of state national parks during their initial development.

The Use of DNA in Genealogy
USA Today published an interesting article about the use of DNA in tracing your family history. Chris Haley, the nephew of the author of Roots, used DNA testing to break a brick wall and discover his Scottish roots.
